The Charo Qul (Four Qul Surahs) — Surah Al-Kafiroon, Surah Al-Ikhlas, Surah Al-Falaq, and Surah An-Naas — hold a special place in the Holy Qur’an for their deep spiritual meaning and protective power. Each Surah begins with the word “Qul” (Say), as Allah commands Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to proclaim vital messages of faith, protection, and purity of belief. These Surahs collectively teach Muslims about Tawheed (Oneness of Allah), reliance on divine protection, and freedom from disbelief and evil influences.

Regular recitation of the Charo Qul offers immense spiritual benefits — they safeguard believers from black magic, the evil eye, jealousy, and Satan’s whispers. They also bring inner peace, strengthen faith, and serve as a shield for one’s home and family. Whether recited in daily prayers, morning and evening routines, or before sleep, these short yet powerful chapters create a barrier of divine protection and connect the heart deeply with Allah’s mercy and guidance.

1. Surah Al-Kafiroon (سورۃ الکافرون)

English Translation:
Say, “O disbelievers!
I do not worship what you worship.
Nor do you worship what I worship.
I will never worship what you worship.
Nor will you ever worship what I worship.
For you is your religion, and for me is mine.”

2. Surah Al-Ikhlas (سورۃ الاخلاص)

English Translation:
Say, “He is Allah, the One,
Allah, the Eternal Refuge.
He neither begets nor is born,
and there is none comparable to Him.”

3. Surah Al-Falaq (سورۃ الفلق)

English Translation:
Say, “I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak
from the evil of what He created,
and from the evil of darkness when it settles,
and from the evil of those who blow on knots,
and from the evil of an envier when he envies.”

4. Surah An-Naas (سورۃ الناس)

English Translation:
Say, “I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind,
the King of mankind,
the God of mankind,
from the evil of the whisperer who withdraws,
who whispers in the hearts of mankind, among jinn and among men.”

The four Qul Surahs

  1. Surah Al-Kafiroon (سورۃ الکافرون)
  2. Surah Al-Ikhlas (سورۃ الاخلاص)
  3. Surah Al-Falaq (سورۃ الفلق)
  4. Surah An-Naas (سورۃ الناس)
    — are among the most protective, powerful, and rewarding chapters of the Holy Qur’an.

They are known as the Surahs of Protection (سورۃ الحفظ) because they safeguard a believer from evil, black magic, and Satan’s whispers.

1. Protection from Evil and Black Magic

Reciting the 4 Quls daily, especially morning and evening, creates a spiritual shield against:

  • Black magic (سحر)
  • Evil eye (نظرِ بد)
  • Jealousy (حسد)
  • Evil spirits (جنّات)

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:

“Recite Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Naas three times in the morning and evening. They will protect you from every harm.”
(Tirmidhi)

2. Strengthens Faith and Tawheed

Surah Al-Ikhlas explains Allah’s Oneness (توحید) beautifully — it declares that Allah is One, Eternal, and Self-Sufficient.

Whoever recites Surah Ikhlas with sincerity gains the reward equal to reciting one-third of the Qur’an.

Hadith:

“By Him in Whose Hand is my soul, it is equal to one-third of the Qur’an.”
(Sahih Bukhari)

3. Protection During Sleep (نیند کے وقت حفاظت)

Before sleeping, the Prophet ﷺ would recite the four Quls, blow over his hands, and wipe over his body for protection.

Sunnah Practice:

  • Recite Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, and An-Naas three times before sleep.
  • Blow into your palms and pass them over your body.

💫 This act guards you through the night from evil dreams, fear, and unseen harm.

4. Brings Peace of Mind and Removes Fear

Reciting the 4 Quls helps in calming anxiety, fear, and sadness.
They remind believers that Allah is the only Protector — no harm can touch them without His will.

🕊️ These Surahs bring spiritual peace, mental clarity, and inner confidence in Allah’s power.

5. Protection for Family and Home

When you recite the 4 Quls and blow around your home,
it brings Barakah (blessing) and drives away evil spirits.

Regular recitation protects your family, children, and home from unseen harms and negative energies.

6. Rewards and Forgiveness (ثواب اور مغفرت)

Every recitation of these short yet deep Surahs brings immense reward, forgiveness, and light (نور) in one’s life.

The more you recite, the more Allah’s mercy descends upon you.

7. Easy Sunnah Habit with Great Blessings

These are short Surahs — easy to memorize and recite anywhere:

  • After Salah (نماز کے بعد)
  • Morning & evening (صبح و شام)
  • Before sleep (سونے سے پہلے)
  • When feeling afraid or weak

Each recitation strengthens your bond with Allah and keeps your heart firm in faith.
